Infectious Pancreatic Necrosis Virus (IPNV) Immunofluorescence Kit (250 tests)
Infectious Pancreatic Necrosis was first described in Canada in the year 1941. Today, the disease is present in North America, South America and Europe.
The virus responsable for Infectious Pancreatic Necrosis is a bi-segmented double-stranded RNA virus member of the Birnaviridae family. This virus causes a severe disease in salmonid fish causing sharp rise on mortality.
Clinical signs of the presence of IPNV include abdominal swelling, anorexia, abnormal swimming and darkening of the skin. Internally the fish may present damage to the pancreas (viral necrosis) and thick mucus on the intestines.
The disease mainly affects Rainbow trout, Brook trout, Coho salmon, Atlantic salmon, Brown trout and several Pacific salmon species.
The Infectious Pancreatic Necrosis Virus (IPNV) Immunofluorescent test from Ango is an immuno-diagnostic assay for the detection of IPNV serotypes Sp and VR-299 in fish tissue and fluid samples. The test high specificity and sensibility are ideal for the correct, rapid and opportune diagnosis of the disease.
