Anti-Renibacterium salmoninarum, (clone 6G12/F12)
This antibody can be used in ELISA (1: 1,000 dilution), Western blot (1: 1,000 dilution) and indirect immunofluorescence (1: 1,000). R.salmoninarum is a small Gram-positive, non motile rod bacillus and is an obligate pathogen. It is the causative agent of bacterial kidney disease (BKD), one of the most important bacterial diseases affecting cultured salmonids. BKD can be transmitted horizontally from fish to fish and vertically within the egg. The morbidity rate is high and the mortality is delayed, but may become serious in highly infected populations (40-80%).
